WELCOME TO BRAC

IGNITE YOUR CHILD'S PASSION FOR LEARNING:

At Blanco River Academy (a 501c3 Environmental Stewardship school) we're not just a school - we're family, dedicated to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning and of the out of doors. Our commitment to sustainability and watershed protection is woven into every aspect of our curriculum and campus life. Our expert educators provide personalized attention, inspiring students to reach their full potential.

Nestled in the heart of Wimberley and adjacent to the beloved Blue Hole Park, our campus offers a unique learning experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the Cypress Creek and Blanco River. From interactive outdoor lessons to enriching field/class trips, our students thrive in an environment that nurtures both mind and body.

Blanco River Academy believes schools have a special role and responsibility in confronting the challenges of climate change, sustainable living, and social injustice. BRAc is dedicated to addressing these issues both in and out of the classroom. Through hands on projects, students actively engage in environmental conservation. From tending to our on-campus organic vegetable and pollinator garden and participating in Blue Hole Park work projects,  to collecting water, soil, and air samples as part of a Citizen Scientist Program funded by a grant from the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences, BRAc students develop a profound connection to the natural world and the responsibility to protect it. With a "Solutionary" focus, we engage our students in implementing innovative solutions that build a healthier, more sustainable school, community, and planet.  We also encourage students to understand the associated social injustice problems in our society today by engaging them in lively discussions, works projects, and academic readings.

BRAc students are well-rounded, critical thinkers, creative in their endeavors, and good stewards of their environment.  We teach acceptance of all individuals and the importance of caring for our earth.
